Parking Terms
A general guide to the sort of terms and site rules drivers may see at CivilPark-managed locations.

Parking terms in plain English
The rules that apply at a location are always shown on the signs at that site. They can vary depending on the type of parking arrangement in place.
In general, drivers should make sure they are authorised to park, follow the signs at the location and check any time limits, tariffs or access conditions before leaving the vehicle.
What signs may cover
- Who can park at the location
- Whether a permit, authorisation or payment is required
- How long a vehicle may stay
- Whether ANPR, CCTV or other monitoring may be used
- Any location-specific restrictions or charges

Site-specific arrangements
Not every location works the same way
A residential site may use allocated bays and visitor authorisation. A mixed-use site may use ANPR or a maximum stay. A private parking area may simply have clear signage and straightforward site terms.
That is why it is important to check the signs at the location before leaving your vehicle.
